He reached out and pulled me to him, one hand on my waist and the other behind my neck. He tipped my head up and lowered his lips to mine. I closed my eyes and melted as my whole body was consumed in that kiss. I was nothing. I was everything. Chills ran over my skin, and fire burned inside me. His body pressed closer to mine, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. His lips were warmer and softer than anything I could have ever imagined, yet fierce and powerful at the same time. Mine responded hungrily, and I tightened my hold on him. His fingers slid down the back of my neck, tracing its shape, and every place they touched was electric.

But perhaps the best of all was that I, Sydney Katherine Sage, guilty of constantly analyzing the world around me, well, I stopped thinking.

And it was glorious.

This whole bit between Sydney & Adrian took my breath away.

And then Adrian going on about how she's like light made into flesh, and how he wants to be a better person and excel because of her.

Sydney/Adrian = relationship goals

For a YA series, I honestly can't believe it when I say that it's the best series I've ever read, hence why I'm re-reading it. Sydney & Adrian are my OTP for any book, tv or film series or even standalone work. I have never come across a more beautiful relationship.

I don't think I'll ever get over The Terror series (season 1), which I watched back-to-back this month ('cause it is just THAT good) and which terrified, amazed, shocked, upset and humbled me. I watched it pretty much immediately after Chernobyl and am bowing down to worship at Jared Harris' feet for leading me onto two of the best series I have ever seen, and lucky for me I was able to watch them one right after the other.

The acting performances were outstanding, especially Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies and Paul Ready, and so many other actors I can't name, just absolutely fantastic performances. I also couldn't get over the brilliance of the music incorporated into several scenes: Blanky finding the Northwest Passage, Sir John's eulogy read by Crozier - these are the first two that come to mind and will not be forgotten.

I was absolutely blown away by the suspense and the emotion and how it ended up being more of a thriller than a horror, how it ended up being so much about the human stories instead of relying just on the monster, how it made you pity and feel for and connect with all the characters, or completely swapped your opinion of them on its head. It's also one of those shows that absolutely benefited by watching it the second time around, since there was so much I missed and I had so much more appreciation for each individual character and their journey and their sufferings (especially Goodsir!).

Plus, well, the ending absolutely wrecked me in some ways, and really satisfied me in others, but I'm absolutely not going there because I'm still recovering.

TV shows like this are one in a million, honestly, and it's given me hope that more will come soon enough.

And damn, now I need to nab a copy of the book by Dan Simmons.
